Ryuji	Fara	American Staffordshire Terrier (fawn & white)	Looking like a dangerous delinquent, but is in reality a man’s (protagonist’s) best friend
Makoto	Dahorgain	Border Collie (black & white)	Shepherd dog, reliable and hard-working. Pretty protective of Haru (sheep), and quite wary of Akechi (wolf)
Ann	Azalir	Schalow's turaco	Bright and loud, but still much more than just a pretty bird with no brains
Haru	Typhitos	Drysdale ram (white)	A docile animal/prey who follows and obey quietly, and yet, stubborn, strong and very capable of charging and sending you flying if provoked. Plus, they're fluffy.
Yusuke	Hōshihime	Grey heron	Majestic and elegant, often present in japanese artworks
Futaba	Totoh	Aye-aye	A bit weird, gremlin-like, but with long and agile fingers, perfect to operate a keyboard. Some believe they carry curses.

Sojiro : japanese serow (greying, solitary, not very impressive but still a bit badass with their wolf-like colors)
Sae : german sheperd (police dog, more aggressive than Makoto's border collie)
Shiho : sparrow (cute and friendly, but very fragile - wings broken by Kamoshida after it tried to defend Shiho)
Mishima : vole (fragile and easily scared, pretty common and not very noteworthy)
Kamoshida : horse (athletic, but very tall, must have been terrifying for small daemons like Shiho’s and Mishima’s. Shujin probably had to renovate some parts of the building to accommodate for their Olympian star’s daemon)
Madarame : peacock (Vanity, full of colors, reminiscent of patterns in the palace - male instead of female ?)
Kaneshiro : hog (symbol found in palace, reference to gluttony, but a bit more scary than classic pigs)
Okumura : crocodile (reptile, uncaring of his employee’s or his daughter’s suffering, with an avid appetite for power)
Shido : lionness (Pride, predator, king of animals, symbol often seen in Shido's palace)

Akira and Kirahé, due to their similar names, are referred to as "the Kiras" by the rest of the team
Larentia is not the original name of Akechi’s daemon. Their mother’s daemon, still hoping for Shido’s return at the time, named Larentia after Shido’s own daemon. Goro and Larentia later changed that name to her current one (inspired by the myth of Romulus and Remus, Acca Larentia reminded them of their mother)
Morgana is Lavenza's daemon. Morgana lost his memory when Lavenza was torn in two, which broke the bond between them, allowing him to be physically distant from her/the twins (like a witch’s daemon). He regains his memories when she becomes whole again.
Dahorgain, being a sheperd dog, is very protective of Typhitos.
